high rollers

Hanger steak and egg burritos for breakfast? Sometimes you just have to roll like that. When one is a little hungover from a wee bit too much red wine the night before, eggs alone will not cut it. Meat was necessary this morning and the only meat we had was some stellar hanger steak. So, steak we made.

First I sauteed up some onions, bell peppers and green onions:

Whisked up a bunch of eggs (splash of milk essential for creaminess):

I scrambled those bad boys, added a little parmesan and served it up with the medium-rare steak in wholewheat tortillas:

There may also have been some hot sauce gravy. Yeah, that’s what I said. Gravy. That’s how I roll. Pun totally intended.

I’m definitely an advocate for occasionally having really amazing ingredients (like fancy steaks) in the least fancy of ways (breakfast burritos). Recommended.

I have several fun baking/cooking plans for the weekend so be back soon!

Are there any “simple” dishes that you like to tart up with fancy ingredients?

I'd say OATMEAL! Since most people usually have it with brown sugar, maybe a banana, or just as some instant packet, etc….but us bloggers add trail mixes and nut butters, dried fruit, flax, yata yata yataaa :)
